Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time, and there is no cancellation fee.

Visit your account page at lookuphound.com/account, which will open your billing portal where you can cancel in one click. Once you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of your current billing period — you'll keep your remaining searches until that period ends, and you won't be charged again.

If you'd prefer to cancel by email, you can also write to support@lookuphound.com from your account email address and request cancellation, or use our 24/7 online chat.

I forgot my login.

If you've forgotten your password, go to lookuphound.com/login and click 'Forgot password?'. We'll email you a reset code so you can set a new password.

If you've forgotten which email address you used to sign up, or you no longer have access to that email, please contact support@lookuphound.com from any address and we will try to help.

I see a charge from LOOKUPHOUND on my card — what is this?

LookupHound is a reverse phone lookup service at lookuphound.com. Charges from LookupHound appear on your statement as LOOKUPHOUND.COM/HELP — the address of this page.

If you signed up at lookuphound.com, you have a paid LookupHound subscription that auto-renews monthly until you cancel it.

You can cancel your subscription at any time at lookuphound.com/account. Visit your account page to open the billing portal and cancel in one click, or use our 24/7 online chat for immediate help. See “How do I cancel my subscription?” above for full details.

If you do not believe you signed up for a LookupHound subscription, see “I see a charge but I never signed up” below.

Where do you get your information?

LookupHound aggregates information from publicly available records, telephone directories, and other third-party data sources — including consumer indexes, phone directories, and address databases. The information is not collected from our users; it is compiled from external public sources.

Free lookups return basic information for any valid U.S. phone number. Premium lookups, available to paid subscribers, return enhanced subscriber information that may include names, addresses, and other publicly available data.

Because this information comes from public records and third-party sources, it may sometimes be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors. We do not independently verify each record, and search results should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision.

How can I remove my information from LookupHound?

If your phone number appears in our search results and you'd like it removed, you can submit a removal request through our self-service opt-out page at lookuphound.com/opt-out.

The process:

  1. Enter the phone number you want removed, your first and last name for verification, and an email address where we can send a verification link.
  2. You'll receive a verification email — click the link to confirm the request.
  3. Upon confirmation, the phone number is removed from LookupHound search results right away.

Once removed, the number will not reappear in our results.

Please note: this process removes the phone number from LookupHound's own search results. We are unable to remove information about you from databases operated by third parties.

If you'd prefer to submit a removal request by email, you can also write to support@lookuphound.com with the phone number you want removed and your full name.

Is anyone notified that I am searching for them?

No. Searches conducted through LookupHound are confidential, and the person whose number you look up is not notified, contacted, or alerted in any way.

I want to delete my paid account.

If you'd like to fully delete your LookupHound membership and remove your account information from our records, please email support@lookuphound.com from the email address associated with your account and request deletion. We'll process the request within a reasonable timeframe.

Account deletion is different from cancellation. If you simply want to cancel your membership, you can cancel anytime through your account page at lookuphound.com/account — see 'How do I cancel my subscription?' above. Cancellation stops your subscription so you're not billed again.

Account deletion is also different from removing your phone number from LookupHound search results. If your concern is that your own phone number appears in our directory, please visit our opt-out page.

How can I talk to a representative?

Many requests can be managed at lookuphound.com/account or via chat on this page. If you still need help, you can reach LookupHound Customer Care through any of the following:

Can I use LookupHound for tenant screening, employment, or credit decisions?

No. LookupHound is not a Consumer Reporting Agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The Services may not be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, education, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. Any such use is prohibited and may result in account termination.

What is the difference between free and paid lookups?

Free lookups return basic information for any valid U.S. phone number — no account required. Premium lookups, available with a paid subscription, return enhanced subscriber information that may include names, addresses, and other publicly available data. Free lookups do not return names.

Why didn't you find a name for the number I searched?

Not every phone number has matching information in our data sources. Numbers may be too new, unlisted, prepaid, or otherwise absent from the public records we aggregate. When this happens, the search still counts as completed. We continue to refresh our data, so trying again later may yield different results.

Can LookupHound access text messages, call logs, or GPS location?

No. LookupHound only returns information from publicly available records and third-party data sources. We do not access private text messages, call logs, GPS data, real-time location, social media accounts, or any private communications. We are not a tracking service.

Is there a LookupHound mobile app?

No. LookupHound is fully web-based and works on any modern mobile browser — no app installation required.

How do I update my payment method?

Visit lookuphound.com/account to open your billing portal, where you can add or update your payment method securely.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) along with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, Klarna, and Amazon Pay. Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor.

Can LookupHound contact the person I looked up?

LookupHound does not facilitate outbound contact. We return information from public records — we do not message or contact anyone on your behalf.

LOOKUPHOUND.com is not a Consumer Reporting Agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This site cannot and should not be used for employment, credit or tenant screening, or purpose related thereto.
